6) Guitar Lessons
When Christopher Parkening (America's most well known classical guitarist) had decided to learn to play the guitar at 11 or 12 years of age, his cousin (who was a staff musician at MGM studios) told him to start with the classical guitar. This would show him the proper techniques of not only the guitar, but also of music.
Even if your intention is not to learn "Classical Guitar," studying with someone who has will be of benefit to you.
While my expertise is on the classical guitar, I have played other types of music over my 30 years of playing. I can show any guitarist pointers in many areas of guitar, technique, and music.
I can give beginning/intermediate lessons for;
Acoustic
Electric
Classical
I give lessons from my place (72nd & Federal, Westminster) or at your place (whichever you prefer). If at your place, I will need to pair you up with another student in your area on the same day (so I'm not driving from Highlands Ranch to Boulder for back to back lessons). Basically, I won't have quite as much flexibility with lesson times if I travel to you.
I give 1/2 hour lessons, but prefer to give an hour lesson (weekly or every other week).
Half lessons are $20.00 each/$80.00 per month (4 per month).
Hour lessons are $37.50 each/$75.00 per month (2 per month).
Weekly Hour lessons are $35.00 each/$140.00 per month (4 per month).
Any one who wants to learn to play guitar should have more than one teacher during the coarse of their studies. The more different ideas you are exposed to (from different teachers) the better your chances of success.
As such, I require a 2 month commitment for lessons, with review at that time interval.
Call or email to inquire about a lesson time that works for you.
